One solid brass set has stations about 14 by 6 1/2 inches each, and some sets are suited to indoor or outdoor use.

In the Sacred Liturgy

The Stations of the Cross, also called the Way of the Cross, are fourteen images that follow Jesus from His condemnation by Pilate to His burial in the tomb. The devotion grew from the custom of pilgrims in Jerusalem, who walked the path of the Passion and prayed at the places where Christ suffered. The Stations let the faithful make that same pilgrimage in spirit in their own parish.

The fourteen Stations hang around the walls of the nave, each marked with a small cross. The faithful move from one to the next, meditating on each scene and praying. The devotion is especially loved on the Fridays of Lent and on Good Friday, when the parish often prays it together, led by a priest.
