Altar Cards
Altar cards set out fixed prayers of the Traditional Latin Mass, so the priest can read them at the altar without turning to the missal.

About this collection
About Altar Cards
Altar cards give the priest the fixed prayers of the Traditional Latin Mass at a glance. This collection offers sets of three altar cards, a large center card and two side cards, in polished and lacquered brass frames. Designs include Gothic, Roman and Baroque frames, and one set uses traditional European artwork pages.
Most frames stand on fold-out legs, and each listing gives the frame and window sizes.
What to check

Altar Cards
In the Sacred Liturgy
Altar cards are framed cards that stand on the altar during the Traditional Latin Mass. They carry prayers the priest says at fixed moments, so he can read them easily while his hands are occupied or while the missal lies on the other side of the altar.
A set has three cards. The large center card stands at the foot of the altar cross and holds prayers such as the Gloria, the Creed and the words of consecration. The card on the Epistle (right-hand) side holds the prayer said as water is mixed with the wine, and the Lavabo psalm, said as the priest washes his fingers. The card on the Gospel (left-hand) side holds the Last Gospel, the opening of St John's Gospel, read at the end of Mass.
Altar cards are set on the altar for Mass and removed afterwards. Their frames are often made to match the altar candlesticks and cross, in brass, gilt metal or carved wood.
I wash my hands in innocence, and go about thy altar, O LORD
